Okay where to start hmmmmmm.....I"ll start here with a desperate message in hopes that the Author sees this!!!!!!!!

Please Puhlease do not ruin Jag!!!!! He is already on thin ice with me but it's not to late lol!!!!!! he hasn't really done anything yet that would make it impossible for him to be redeemed.....if he does what I think he is gonna do I am going to straight throw my IPAD across the room! please don't make me break my IPAD ;)

Alright enough begging here is my review:

With all that I am fixing to write below I want to stress that I highly recommend this book......obviously I gave it four stars and I am writing a review! I like to consider myself in the loop and think as a avid romance reader we are all looking for a great story and interesting entertainment.....I don't rate stories with four or five stars or write a review on a book/authors work that I don't stand by! Now this is my first book by this author and I can tell you she has got it! You know 'it' the ability to pull you in and get you hooked.....and I am hooked for sure.....what I am listing below is purely my opinion and hopes that she goes a different route in the story on her next book in this series.....I am thinking she will.....that's why I'm writing this review being a cheerleader of sorts lol I have never written a negative review and never will.....I have so much respect for authors to put their work out to be judged. This review is strictly constructive criticism based on the last few chapters.....in no way would I warn off anyone from reading this book......it is a spectacular story!

The one and only reason I gave this book 4 Stars besides I love this story was our Heroine.....she friggin rocks! She made this story all by her little ol'self.
I deducted a star for not having Jag's POV I'll get to that later.....here is the breakdown.

Heroine: she is fun.....smart.....sweet.....innocent.....hilarious....I enjoyed so much being in her head! She has loved Jag her whole life in so many different forms...it was so much fun to read her love transforming into true deep soulful """"dedicated""" trustworthy"""" love. She only had 1 or 2 WTH moments which here lately in books I'm reading is a home run. She is NOT ditsy or too naive....she is very relatable and just a fun character......loved her!

Now I usually spend a lot of time talking about my favorite character but I'm gonna skip over the Heroine in hopes that the Author reads this....Do authors really listen to the readers? Dang I hope so ;)

Hero: he is a difficult one....I did not have his POV which totally sucked because I could form a much better opinion about him if I did....now I'm left to my own imagination and really a true guessing game about what's going on in that head of his ;) here was my take on it:

Throughout the whole book up until the last few chapters I was truly puttin him at the top of the all time favorite book boyfriend....he did and said everything us romance readers want our Heroes to do because let's face it we have expectations and he certainly didn't disappoint according to our Heroine ( so she says) again who knows what was going on his end....let me explain! There is a period of time our couple is separated by distance, school and his career. now we know what our girl is doing during this time her thoughts her feelings etc. We know several things based on our heroes interactions with her and what he says but it is not the same thing as his POV....which lessened this great story. Now I am not going to give away any spoilers but here is where I get a little sick feeling in my stomach that I hate to have when I am reading my books......it's the big ol uncertainty about my dear wonderful hero.....he does something to our sweet, awesome heroine that I have to straighten up in my seat and say literally out loud say NO NO NO NO.....not only am I saying it because my hero is getting ruined and so is my story here but he is friggin messing with my Heroine lol dramatic I know I know! But it's not too late it can be fixed this Author is really good! This story is really good! Now I know any good story has to come with a little angst.....I like that and I always brace myself and anticipate it....but in the last few chapters it just took a bad turn and without Jag's voice and reason I just had to come to my own conclusion and unfortunately am gonna have to wait til the next book cause it ends on a cliffhanger which is fine....we don't have a long wait for the next book :) but I'm praying what I think is going to happen doesn't so I can keep my IPAD ;)

In a perfect world of book reading which we all know doesnt always happen I hope that the hero here doesn't screw over the heroine like I think he is going to.....Author......he will not be the same in my eyes if he goes any further with you know who!!!!!!!!! and I am sure a lot of other readers will not be so forgivable and no matter what he says or does I'm gonna be thinking nuhuh I don't care you did that lol ewwww please don't let him lol it will break our heroine she will always have that in her head wether she forgives him or not.....uggggg she will be ruined! I'll hurt for her and dang I'm a grudge holder! Like for life lol I wont get past it I so hope it goes another way! Crossing fingers ;)

Anyway see my point...... the author totally has me begging here on the edge! See she did good :) got me invested over here trying to stick up for a fictional character......argue for her! Gahhhhh......

I really enjoyed this book and how it showed the progression of the relationship between Ellen and Jag since they were childhood friends up to when they finally decided to try to make a relationship. After Jag is drafted by the pros, I think he definitely starts becoming a jerk right away to Ellen and his ego gets in the way. There is definitely a breakdown in communication between the two which I think leads to a lot of their problems. This books is from Ellen's POV, can't wait to read the next book since it is from Jag's POV
I really liked this book. The story flowed easily and I wanted to keep reading till the end. The hero was pretty alpha, which I also like. The heroine, Ellen is probably what didn't make it a 5 star read for me. I did like her a lot but her inner diagolue got on my nerves a bit. Her thoughts were always snarky or humorous and it was a little overdone for my taste. Less would have been more in this area.
Overall, it was really a good read and I recommend the book. The love scenes were hot and I can't wait till the next book to see how the story continues. 4 Stars!
Harper Bentley had me when she mentioned Jake Ryan a few pages or so in. Who doesn't love Jake Ryan? Anyway, I so loved this book. I started reading it in the morning, went to work, and came home (quickly I might add) in order to finish it and I did. Ellen was extremely relatable, I swear it were as if I was telling the story myself. And Jagger, Jag, just the name alone makes me melt. I loved how their story started out when they were children and it continued throughout their lives. There were sweet moments, hot moments, wanna smack somebody moments. Just a little bit of everything that one would imagine people go through in a long relationship. The only thing I didn't like about it? I have to wait for book two and it's killing me!! I truly loved this story!!
What did I think?

This book is amazing! The chemistry is crazy between Ellen and Jag.

Again I had the privilege to pre-read this book for this amazing author and I couldn't be luckier to have early access to such an incredible story.

The story starts as Ellen and Jag meet at the ice cream truck when they were young kids and shows the relationship as they grow. There will be three books in this series and with the way this one ends, you can only hope that you have enough tissues to get you through and you'll be wanting the next one immediately.

Biased or not, this book is great. Harper Bentley claims she's not an angst author but holy crap she should be! The angst in this one is KILLER and the sexy times are YOWZA )

You go through all the emotions you can think of She made me laugh (I love Ellen's sarcastic nature)! She made me cry (bring on the Kleenex and snot sobbing)! She made me angry (I can't tell you why but OMG!)

At the end I was like NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!! Why isn't the next book out now?

*sigh*
I loved this story!! Jag is awesome till the last few chapters and then -- you are left hanging BAD!! While I loved this story, had I known there was going to be a cliffhanger and then a four month wait till the next book is released, I would not have read this! It seems just about every book you pick up now has a cliffhanger with a second or even third book to follow. What happened to the old days where the first book had the whole story? I remember those days, and yeah it took longer to read but I was happy when I finished the book. This book left me full of angst and then some! The characters are awesome, the story is great, but waiting till February is not!!! I highly recommend this but be prepared for a big cliffhanger.
