Overall, it was a good storyline! I have my issues and it is purely my issues! I have never been in an abusive relationship, nor have I been a witness to one as Kay had been. However, it could have been written with much more woman power. I totally got her relationship with Black, and how she fell victim to his abuse and continued to go back time and time again! But when Rico showed her so much favor, it should have been an alarm going off in her head on how a man is supposed to treat a woman. The fact that she got with Julian, that one was on her! Because he'd showed her who he was before they ever got serious! But overall it was down to earth, it was a gritty reality of what some women go through just to be happy. To me, the book would have been served better with an ending love story! Yes, I know what eventually occurred at the end, but it was rushed, and I felt that at that point the story should have slowed down and took us through her new found love, and even give them some drama, to me you can't go from the gutter to the top and now you end up with a "perfect relationship", the only reason why I say that is because some parts of this book are VERY believeable and true in most cases!Product details

Love Is Blind edition by Kyoshi Brooke Lewis Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This story is deep; it’s about Kaylen and what she endures being in an abusive relationship. Her viewpoints on how a healthy, loving relationship should be was so misconstrued, and it was sad the way she blamed herself for all the mistreatment that was afflicted upon her. Nonetheless, her concept does change toward the end, but it takes a lot to get her to that point. I would have given it four stars, but there were a few grammar and punctuation issues throughout the book. Overall, the plot was worth continuing because the story delivers a strong message.
This review is for the book Love Is Blind
This book was heart felt,I in the beginning FELT sorry for Kay then I got mad at her but then I realized this was once me so I sympathized with her. Julian was a ass I felt myself getting mad and wishing I could kill him myself. This book will definitely have you off and in our feelings have you in tears and then smiling. I glad she got her happy ending. This book is for any woman who ever been in this situation.I would definitely be recommending this book to my book club must read list and telling friends to check this book out.
The poem was sad, I did however go and download it. Kyoshi thank you for this read.
Reader chick
I am almost at a loss for words, which is a NEVER for me. Kyoshi wrote from her heart without a doubt and kept domestic violence real. I don't know that I have EVER read a book that wasn't fiction that covered the topic as fully and completely, pulling out all the stops, as this one did. If this is not a testament of gigantic proportions to send out a message of encouragement, love and strength, I don't know what is. I realize that it takes more than reading a book for those in this situation, but it is certainly a place to begin and a factual encounter that has to at least serve as an eye opener. BE STRONG MY SISTAH,S AND CHOOSE TO LIVE. Peace and mercy always.
Anyone who gave this book anything less than 4 stars didn't actually read this book or never been in love. I praised the author for uprooting so many different emotions out of me. I was all tears when I followed Kaylen in the home with her father and in her own home at the hands of Black. I went from wanting to embrace her to complete anger, to wanting to choke her for not taking an escape route earlier...not once, but again and again. This is the first book in a long time that wasn't all over the place. The author had a story to tell and I promise you, it was definitely told! You won't regret this read.
This was a great story with a powerful message about Domestic Violence! Kaylen went through a lot by the hands of the man she was in love with. She wanted out of the situation but couldn't bring herself to leave until she got fed up! Rico was an amazing man! He was never the type to abuse females especially since his sister went through it. This book will have your emotions show and bring you to tears. Definitely worth the read as well as the 5 stars. If I could give more stars I would!!!
This book...it TRULY took me for a ride. As a woman who survived and left two abusive relationships I empathize with the main character. I lost my first daughter (RIH Teja) when I was almost 6 months pregnant with her because her donor couldn't keep his hands to himself. When I discovered that I was pregnant with my now 15 year old son, I left for good. My second abusive relationship was when my son was just over a year old and my ex was choking me with his bare hands because he didn't like my "tone of voice". I didn't hesitate to kick his butt to the curb. It's hard to go thru abuse and for ppl to judge you and say you're stupid for staying, because the majority of us were abused growing up or witnessed abuse so our perspective of love is messed up. When you crave love, it truly makes you blind. I applaud the author for her unbiased perspective. Thank you so much...sincerely, A Survivor
I liked the message about domestic violence that the author tried to give, but the story structure was way off. This book could have ended at the 40% mark. It seemed like two different books in one.
***Spoiler alert****
Some of the scenes and characters were unrealistic. The male characters were either demonized or feminine. What man sleeps in the bed with a girl he is interested in for years and never tries to make a move? Too bizarre. And the main character was frustrating because she never stood up for herself!
I'm not going to lie--I couldn't put down the book. The author kept the drama going and it was edited pretty decent, grammar and punctuation wise, compared to most books in this genre, but it really needed to be edited for structure and realism. I had to suspend belief to finish reading. The ending could have been summed up in a few paragraphs, instead of several drawn out chapters.
And what was up with all of the song lyrics? For a book not about musicians it seemed irrelevant and annoying.
But the author is promising, and I look forward to her other books. She is one of the better ones in the genre. She just needs a good editor.
