Awakening the Nightmare Symmetria Book 1 eBook Lanie Malone
I picked this book up at random and decided to give it a try. The author definitely put an interesting spin on the non-humans in this book, and I was intrigued from the beginning by Cory's mysterious history. The politics within the vampire community and the explanation of why certain non-humans no longer existed, or existed in small numbers, was very interesting to me as well.I didn't like how the relationship between Cory and Nicolai progressed so fast. They went from disliking each other intensely to sex without any real explanation of their change of opinion. I also think that Cory's past could have been dealt with a little differently rather than having an info dump of her telling Nicolai all at once, though I did find myself intrigued by who and what she really was.
On the whole, an easy read and one that I'll likely read again. I will also continue to read other books by this author if the series is continued.

Awakening the Nightmare Symmetria Book 1 eBook Lanie Malone Reviews
A very well written story, lots of spots to keep you hanging around to find out what's gonna happen. A nice mix of characters, all with their own little back story. Definitely one you will want to read if you like these types of stories.
My cousin (the author) told me to read it because she thought I might like it. Once I got around to starting it I was instantly hooked by the mystery surrounding the lead character and finished the book in two days. It's just a little bit slow in the front but quickly picks up after that. I think this book would do well on the big screen as long as the author had creative control. It's a very solid 4 out of 5 and I look forward to the next book in the series.
This is definitely a must read for paranormal fans with romance thrown in. The author created an interesting setting and you connect with the characters.
An enjoyable read that started off a little stilted, but improved dramatically as the tale went on, giving a good cast of characters and a good plot.
I'm not good at picking apart a book and telling you what I like about it, but here goes.
This book is amazing not only because it is full of supernatural being, but because I feel the characters are believable in their reactions to the situations around them. The story is well written with, I believe, no unnecessary parts thrown in.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves the supernatural.
Fast-paced, great character development and lots of good characters to stick your teeth into (so to speak.) Not too long, not too short, a perfect length of novel. Not overly violent (but violent enough), the story would probably be rated 'R' if it was a movie. But it's not. But it could be, it really would do well on the screen. Hear that, Hollywood? ) The book is described as Book 1, I hope that is for real and I hope Ms. Malone gets it out soon - I'm ready for Book 2!
I received this book from the Author for an honest review. The only bias-ness that I give a review in ARR is for some grammar/spelling issues; as I know that they will be fixed (usually).
So this book review is totally honest.
All around, I liked this book. There were strong, understandable characters. The plot was well thought out and had a good flow. There were no gaps in storyline or logic. All details were given in a sufficient manor. I really enjoyed this book!
There was a fairly large cast of characters, but at no point did it ever get confusing. I loved the plot twists and element of suspense that Malone kept up through the whole book, and Cory's past was well guarded until the perfect times on all accounts! (Calling to "Daddy", her past actions, her past lover, etc... I'm really trying to to give anything away!)
I loved how strong Cory was, how loyal and independent she tried to remain. While most of the creatures in the book are of preternatural origin, you find a sense of plausibility in their actions, their reasoning, and how everything progresses. I think that's what I like most about Awakening the Nightmare, nothing seems out of place or like a huge stretch. Once you accept that the book is about wares, demons, vampires, etc... everything else is logical.
All in all, I loved this book, and would really enjoy reading more by Lanie Malone!
